GlenDronach (pronounced: glen drawn-ick) is quickly becoming one of my favorite distilleries with the wide range of expressions and finishes. Originally released in 2011, the GlenDronach 21 Parliament is the oldest of the core range of expressions – aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. This Parliament is a perfect expression for sherry and GlenDronach lovers alike.
The Parliament name originates from the Parliament of rooks (a term to describe a group of birds) that in the trees near the distillery – not a political reference.

TASTING NOTES
Glass for Review: Glencairn
Nose: Fresh cut mahogany, raisins, espresso. Hints of walnuts, brown sugar, and pound cake. Complemented by notes of maraschino cherries and a touch orange zest.
Palate: Toffee, syrup, fig, and sherry burst on the tip of the tongue. A touch of spice, gingerbread cookies, and graham crackers. Dry mellow toasted oak, followed by dark chocolate and a splash of Cabernet.
Finish: Sherry is very prevalent on the finish, a little tannic, with spicy oak. The finish isn’t extremely drying, and lingers on the palate for a little while.
Overall: A sweet and complex dram – the Oloroso and PX casks work well together here in a good balance of sweet, a hint of fruit, and a dash of spicy oak.
Average Price: $200-250 USD
